Union right of entry – what’s reasonable on where to meet?
In January 2011, a Full Bench of Fair Work Australia overturned Commissioner Julius Roe’s Decision and found that it was reasonable for an employer to require a union official of the AMIEU to meet with workers in the training room near the manager’s office rather than in the (union-preferred) lunch room.
On 27 April, Justice Ross, President of Fair Work Australia issued a statement outlining the review of modern awards.
This will be useful to Members in the process for registering an EBA and in dealing with staff contracts.
The Certificate in Sugar Milling commenced its periodic review in 2011 and by May 2012 was approved and available on the training.gov.au website.
